Why I Wrote It
I got saved and called to preach when I was nine years old in ruralOklahoma. And then I spent the next three decades in the military and law
enforcement wondering why the Christianity I kept bumping into never looked
like what I read in the Bible.
Nobody told me about the Holy Spirit. Nobody told me about the war.Nobody told me that the moment I said yes, the enemy had a target on my back
and a strategy already in motion.
I had to figure it out the hard way — through failed marriages, through anger I couldn't explain, through years of feeling like I was saved but stuck.
And when God finally got my full attention and called me back to the ministry
He'd laid on me since childhood, the first thing I wanted to do was make sure
other men didn't have to spend thirty years finding what I found.
That's this book.
